Empowerment

(a definition from the World Bank – PovertyNet)

Empowerment is the process of increasing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choices and to transform those choices into desired actions and outcomes.

But there’s a lot more to Empowerment than this simple definition suggests.

For a 501(C)3 like NMSEA:

  • Supporting the development & application of renewable & sustainable sources of power in your home, in your town, and all around NM.

  • Collaborating with other organizations to promote the use of Renewable Energy.

  • Educating everyone!.  Knowledge, properly understood & applied, inevitably leads to progress in the quest to make the world a better place.

Knowledge is Power!

So for NMSEA, a guiding definition of “Empowerment” is:

We strive to teach people skills and knowledge that will motivate them to take steps to improve their own lives – to be empowered.
